A Queen's Diary

Don't Stop

There are several reasons why we decide to follow through on achieving goals. Things like seeking financial freedom, increasing the amount of free time you have daily, and the reason that probably rings true for most of us, and that is “Fear”. Whatever the reason may be, you should know that every day is filled with light and inspiration, and no goal is unattainable.
I am 33 years old and I recently had a child. I love my baby with all my heart, but I was under the impression that everything I was involved in would have be paused or stopped completely because of my bundle of joy. I believed that school would have to be delayed, work projects had to stop, and planning my personal business would have to be placed on the back burner. Although the birth of my child was so great, in my mind, it brought up many negatives. How was I going to have the time or extra money to pursue anything else? How could I possibly do anything for myself when I must take care of a child? My mind began to spiral, and eventually my goals began to fade to a distant memory.
After my pregnancy, I gained support from others and developed a plan for how I was going to take back my future and rededicate myself to my goals. I realized that having a baby really wasn’t going to affect the goals that I had already set for myself, and with a little readjustment, I could continue to be inspired. I had to look within myself and ask, why did I set these goals in the first place? Who do I want to become?
Of course, life may take a turn and your blueprint may change, but you shouldn’t give up on your goals and aspirations. If you find yourself having setbacks you should reflect, pray, meditate, or find your inner peace, and motivate yourself to progress.
Also, surround yourself with positive influences and legitimate role models. A huge mistake that we make is keeping “negative Nancy’s” around that continue to keep that black energy around us.
Lastly, remind yourself why you established your goals in the first place. Whether it was to save money, for family, school, a career, or whatever reason motivates your actions, you need to hold fast to those motivators and let no circumstance hinder you from achieving what you set out to do.
